When can I actually use it?
The app is in active development. The MVP ships with multiplayer presence in the shared world, focus tasks, work and break timers, the always-on-top overlay, the three-room world, the gardening system, the daily-leaf tree, kudos, foosball, the office economy, the signal-vs-noise dashboard, an office cat or dog, and the ability to host private offices. Voice and richer team admin features come post-MVP. Early access invites go out to the waitlist.
What platforms will it run on?
Cozy Cowork is built as a desktop application. We'll share supported platforms closer to early access — we'd rather confirm than promise.
Is this another video meeting app?
No. There's no video, no audio, no calls. You see small pixel-art avatars in a 2D world, with quiet presence and focus indicators. The whole point is to feel near others without the demand to perform.
Will my work be tracked or scored?
Your tasks are yours. The dashboard (signal vs. noise, time per tag, billable hours) is a private view for you — useful if you bill by the hour or want to know where your week went. The leaderboards (foosball, kudos given) and the shared tree are opt-in social touches, not surveillance.
What's body doubling, exactly?
It's the well-known feeling that working alongside someone makes it easier to start, focus, and finish — even if you're not interacting. Many people, including a lot of folks with ADHD, find it genuinely helpful. Cozy Cowork is built around that idea: a shared multiplayer world where you can see other people working, without needing to be on camera or in a call.
Tell me more about the tree.
There's a tall tree in the park. Show up to work, and a new leaf appears with your display name on it. It's a tiny, low-stakes record of who's shown up — yours and your teammates'. Especially nice when their leaves appear next to yours.
Can my small team or community use it together?
Yes. You can host a private office for your regular team that preserves between sessions — your shared store progress, garden, foosball stats, and tree all carry over. For events or one-off get-togethers, you can spin up a one-time office and invite guests in. Richer team admin features come later.
Wait — there's a garden? Foosball? An office cat?
Yes, and a dashboard, and an office economy, and private offices for your team. Cozy Cowork is half cozy game, half quiet productivity tool: earn credits as you focus, plant seeds at the vending machine, watch your garden grow over real days, give one kudos a day, play foosball, and adopt an office cat (or dog, or both, if your office can afford it). The game systems are gentle on purpose — they're there to make showing up feel rewarding, not turn work into a leaderboard race.
How much will it cost?
We haven't set pricing yet. The goal is something solo workers and freelancers can afford comfortably, with early waitlist members getting friendly terms.
